Encapsulated Rubber O Rings
Encapsulated rubber O rings have an inner core of flexible rubber covered with a jacket of material that protects against corrosion and resistance to high temperatures. The jacket types include fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) and perfluoroalkoxy-copolymer (PFA). FEP offers resistance to several forms of destructive chemicals and can operate in a very wide range of temperatures. PFA is exactly like FEP but has stronger mechanical properties and resistance to various forms of stress and cracking. The jackets of encapsulated rubber O rings can be damaged by moving parts, limiting their use to static applications.
